ALUMNI

The Women’s Alumni Network (WAN) was formed in 2024 to provide the space and resources that allow alumni of the Arizona Womens Recovery Center and Hushabye Nursery to continue to connect and strengthen their recovery after treatment.

Introduction

The partnership between Hushabye Nursery and Arizona Womens Recovery Center dates back many years as each program has been recognized for their longstanding commitment to working with substance abusing women; introducing them to sound recovery principles while caring for their children and families.

The need for women to remain connected to one another after treatment is an established predictor of long-term sobriety.

Extending our support and treatment into programming and services to our alumni ensures that our ability to increase resilience in our communities. We hope to support our alumni as long as they are seeking recovery through positive peer engagement and sound recovery activities.

WAN’s mission is to create opportunities for mentorship, community engagement, resource development and to provide a supported learning environment that will help women take care of their health, their well-being and their community together. We plan to be a place alumni can always turn to receive encouragement and non-judgmental support.

We’re excited that the first alumni picnic in 2023 demonstrated to us and our alumni the power of our connection to each other and the power we can offer to others along the same recovery journey.

We invite our community advocates to join us by subscribing to our page, supporting our events, and most importantly share our programs with your loved ones. Recovery is not perfect but it saves lives.
